personal branding

Jo, with Branding by Jo Photography

As a branding photographer, my passion is to empower women to discover their confidence on camera so they can tell their brand story, inspire connection with their dream clients, community and even themselves as they build their dream business. My main goal is to help you create visual content that speaks directly to who you are and what your business is all about.

When implemented across your marketing platforms headshots and brand images are used across clients’ websites, social media feeds, newsletters, and physical marketing materials.

I often encounter that many of my clients know that they need branding photos but are hesitant to get them actually taken. Then once they do, they aren’t always exactly sure how to use them because there are so many options and strategies so it can lead to overwhelm and no action. See below for some tips on how you can use them!

1. UPDATE YOUR HEADSHOT ACROSS ALL OF YOUR PLATFORMS

You know that little icon next to all of your social media handles? Update it to one of your new on brand professional images with your smiling, beautiful face! Your followers and clients will instantly recognize your page and that you’re keeping it current enticing them to click to whatever amazing content you’re sharing on it.

2. CREATE A CONSISTENT SOCIAL MEDIA LOOK

Sharing professional photos that were tailored specifically for your business and to target your ideal clients will guarantee you a consistent social media look. In a world of visual marketing, consistency is key to making an impact!

One of my subscription clients Amanda with Conscious Creating with Amanda does an amazing job implementing photos from our shoots with quotes and curated messages on her instagram! We planned her session to make sure her brand colors were present, and that her photos were on-brand to help her relay her message on her feed beautifully!

3. LIVEN UP YOUR NEWSLETTER

Newsletter looking a little boring? Add a photo or two to jazz it up and pull in your client’s interest in what you’re communicating to your email list subscribers. Not sending newsletters?! Now is the time to reconnect with the clients you’ve already worked with.

4. UPDATE YOUR PORTFOLIO

5. UPDATE THE IMAGES ON YOUR WEBSITE

Updating images on your website give it a modern and refreshed look. It will also help your SEO. Google ranks websites that update content regularly higher.

6. CREATE NEW BUSINESS CARDS & MAILERS

Tangible marketing goods still have a place in marketing! Update your business cards, create some mailers and have one more avenue to appear in front of your ideal clients.

7. FRESHEN UP YOUR BLOG CONTENT WITH NEW PHOTOS

Use photos from your brand shoot and update your blog! Using your brand photos will allow your blog to feel more authentic and give your clients a better glimpse of who you are and what it is like to work with you.

8. SEND YOUR NEW PHOTOS TO ANYONE REQUESTING HEADSHOTS FOR YOUR SPEAKING EVENTS & BLOG CONTRIBUTIONS

Don’t find yourself embarrassed only having a headshot that hasn’t been updated in 5+ years! Feel confident in sending current on-brand headshots when you’re in the spotlight!

9. LAY IMAGES AND WORDS

A picture can speak a thousand words, but we can also physically add words to pictures to make a more appealing graphic! Don’t be afraid to use overlays to add text to relay the exact message you want to share. We will always capture some options that are offset for this specific purpose.

10. CELEBRATE!

Investing in yourself and your business is something to celebrate!! Creating content that connects with your ideal clients so you can build the business of your dreams is worthy of a happy dance! Take a moment to acknowledge that you made a great choice, implement your photos in your marketing & watch your business flourish!!
